Coronavirus 2020: Oxford Playhouse Statement

Thursday 12th March 2020

At Oxford Playhouse and the Burton Taylor Studio, the wellbeing and safety of our staff, artists and audiences is of utmost priority.

Following this afternoon’s advice and guidelines from Government and the Chief Medical Officer, our current position remains business as usual.

If our patrons feel uncomfortable with attending one of our performances at this time, we will exchange your tickets for another event or credit your account (valid for 12 months).  Please inform the Ticket Office and return the tickets to the Ticket Office at least 24 hours prior to the advertised start time of the performance (please note the physical tickets must be returned to the Ticket Office if they have already been issued).

We ask any members of our audiences and visitors to please stay away from the Playhouse if you are experiencing a consistent cough or develop a new cough or have a temperature of 37.8 degrees or higher.  Today’s advice from the Government is that you MUST stay at home and self-isolate for 7 days.  Visit https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19 or call 111 for advice.  Your tickets will be exchanged or credited as above.

We are in constant liaison with UK Theatre as our industry leader and are operating in line with current advice.  We will update our operating procedures and advice at the earliest appropriate point.
