In Person Booking
Monday: 10am – 6pm*
Tuesday - Saturday: 12 noon – 6pm*
Sunday & Bank Holidays: Usually closed, on performance days we open one hour before the start time.
*On performance days we close 15 minutes after curtain up.
Telephone Booking
The Box Office telephone line 01865 305305 is open Monday from 10am and then Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon until the start of the evening performance.
On Sunday the Box Office telephone line is closed unless a live OP stage performance is scheduled, when phone lines will open one hour before the start time. The Box Office phone line will close once the live show has started.
Please have your credit/debit card ready when calling – we accept Mastercard and Visa. We regret we are unable to accept payment via American Express.
We issue e-ticket(s) only for you to show on your mobile/device when you arrive at the Box Office. On receipt of your tickets, please check the details are correct.
Online Booking
Once you have successfully purchased your ticket(s), confirmation of your booking will be emailed to you from Oxford Playhouse, along with your e-ticket(s). Please double check your Junk Folder if you cannot locate your e-ticket within your email inbox. If you can't find it, you can also download a copy via your online account. Just login and click 'e-tickets' to locate them.
Online Booking is available until 1 hour before a performance.
Discounts we offer are for Friends and Patrons, under 18's, full-time University Students, NHS, Equity and Universal Credit claimants. Some special offers and discounts for group discounts, cannot be booked online. These are subject to availability and may not always be available on all shows. Please check with the Box Office prior to booking.
Our secure ticketing system Spektrix, encrypts all your personal information. Our 3rd party payment processing company is PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant.
Fees & Levies
All Main Stage bookings will incur a non-refundable £2.75 booking fee.
Burton Taylor Studio professional productions and Take Part events/workshops incur a £1.50 fee.
This is applied per booking, not per ticket. This fee does not apply to Friends, Patrons, 14-25 members, access patrons, school and group bookings, community tickets, Burton Taylor Studio student productions, merchandise, house programmes, gift vouchers/tokens, Hey Diddle Diddle, or any events or workshops priced under £10.
All stated ticket prices for our main stage shows include a commission and restoration levy fee.
Access Bookings
We will make every reasonable adjustment to ensure your visit goes as smoothly as possible.
We offer discounted tickets on most of our shows and companion tickets alongside these. We have a limited number of wheelchair spaces in our main stage and regularly present Audio Described, Captioned, BSL Interpreted and Relaxed performances.

Group Bookings
- 10% deposit due within 4 weeks of making booking
- 10% off for Groups 10+ and 20% off for Groups 40+ for selected performances
- Pre-order interval drinks to save time queueing
Discounts are available for those booking more than 10 tickets for the same performance. Available on the top two price bands only. Not bookable online. Payment must be made in one transaction. Email: boxoffice@oxfordplayhouse.com
School & College Bookings
- 10% deposit due within 4 weeks of making booking
- Pre-order your ice-creams
- £14 tickets available for schools and further education students (For 2026 productions, the school rate will be from £15 per ticket)
We offer discount tickets for school and college bookings. From £14 per ticket and one free teacher with every 10 tickets booked. Available Mon to Thu for most week-long shows. Subject to availability. Panto: Tickets from £15 (+ every 16th ticket free). School discounts are capped and subject to availability. Exchanges & Refunds
Tickets are non-refundable unless an event is cancelled or postponed. If you provide 7 days notice you may be able to exchange tickets to another performance of the same show subject to availability. This will be subject to a £2 per ticket fee. We do not offer exchanges between different shows. Friends and Patrons are excluded from these fees.

Family Friendly
We aim to make a visit to Oxford Playhouse an easy and enjoyable experience for families.
We provide:
- Toddler booster seats
- Storage for pushchairs and prams
- Baby changing facilities (in the adapted toilet on the ground floor)
Lap Tickets:
Unless a different age is stated on the website, babies under the age of 18 months are welcome to family shows for free at Oxford Playhousewith a Babes in Arms ticket. These can be booked online or by calling the Box Office.
In addition, we are sometimes able to offer Relaxed Performances across other shows in our programme. These are ideal for anyone who wants to bring a baby to the theatre. Relaxed performances will be labelled as such on our website. Please call the Box Office on 01865 305305 to book your Babes in Arms ticket and we can advise where best to sit.
Family shows at the Burton Taylor Studio.
Unless otherwise specified, babies under 12 months require a free baby ticket. To book please email boxoffice@oxfordplayhouse.com with your order number. Lap tickets are subject to availability. Children over 12 months will need their own ticket.
Please note that for all performances, anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.
Weather Policy
Oxford Playhouse's weather policy applies to all performances on the OP main stage, the BT Studio stage and our offsite productions. (If you have booked for an event sold through Tickets Oxford, please contact the company holding the event directly for information regarding its inclement weather policy.)
Performances will continue in all but the most extreme weather conditions (where it may be deemed unsafe for the production to continue).
As weather conditions can change, and forecasts inaccurate, the decision to cancel or postpone a performance may not be taken until the published start time. We ask that everyone arrives prepared for the expected weather condition. Refunds will only be offered if a performance is cancelled or postponed.
If, owing to inclement weather, you are unable to attend a performance on the day, please contact the Box Office who will advise about a refund or credit.
If a performance continues and you are unable to stay for the complete performance because of the weather condition, please contact the Box Office as soon as possible. The team will attempt to move your tickets to another time (subject to availability).
Credit Notes
Credit notes have an expiry date of 12 months and can now be used online. (You need to be logged-in to your account in order to see your credit balance).
Please note: once the 12 months have passed, your credit note will be removed from your Oxford Playhouse account. Do contact the Box Office to find if you still have a credit.
Gift Vouchers & Theatre Tokens
OP Gift Vouchers are available to purchase online, in person from the Box Office, or over the phone.
SOLT Theatre Tokens are available for purchase in person from the Box Office.
Both OP Gift Vouchers and SOLT Theatre Tokens can be used to buy tickets for any performance at the Oxford Playhouse. OP Gift Vouchers can be used online. Please note, SOLT Theatre Tokens cannot be used online.
