Are you 60+? Would you like the opportunity to develop your own new play?
At Oxford Playhouse, we believe creativity should be for every age – emerging doesn’t just mean ‘new.’
Following our successful pilot course for Playmaker Later in 2025, we are delighted to present this unique chance for six later-in-life writers to take part in six sessions free of charge.
These sessions, hosted at Oxford Playhouse, will include group workshops as well as dedicated teaching time. The scheme will be led by local playwright Carolyn Lloyd-Davis in partnership with Living the Drama and will result in extracts of the plays being professionally performed and produced in 2026.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to learning and redrafting, and we ask that you have had some writing experience before (this could be writing poetry, plays or short stories) – for us, creativity is paramount!
The content of the course was excellent, covered different formats and the participation of all members was very helpful and thought-provokingPrevious participant
