Playmaker Later: New Writing from Oxfordshire
A sharing of work from five passionate later-in-life creatives

Our Playmaker Later scheme brings together five passionate later-in-life creatives from across Oxfordshire, each with a story to tell and a play to write.
In development since September 2025, each play demonstrates the unique voices and experiences of each writer, exploring a wide range of themes and characters, under the brilliant stewardship of acclaimed playwright Carolyn Lloyd-Davies.
Our sharing of script-in-hand performances, directed by Paul Simpson, provides a first-time platform for each piece of new writing, with each 15-minute extract performed by a cohort of local performers.
There will be an opportunity to chat with our writers and provide feedback on each extract at the end of the evening, as our writers look to take their work forward beyond the scheme.
