An Improbable production

Directed by Lee Simpson

Experience an evening of improvised music and thought-provoking talks with Improbable Sessions: AI and Consciousness. In this one-of-a-kind session, incredible musicians improvise music just for you. It’s an evening of glorious sound created right before your ears.

Sharing the spotlight are leading thinkers in AI, discussing the themes of AI and consciousness, and what this might mean for us humans. The experts will speak, the music will respond. Perhaps this is the kind of debate we should be having?

Part gig, part Ted Talk, all experiment. A thrilling evening of music and ideas like no other.

About the Band

Crossing genres and style, the band sits somewhere between jazz, folk, chamber music and free form improv. Led by master musical improviser Chris Ash (keys) with Joley Cragg (percussion), Juliet Colyer (cello) and Max Gittings (woodwind).

Their music takes them from the National Theatre to one-to-one work with patients in hospitals, to the London Jazz Festival, Shakespeare’s Globe, and around the world on tour. Between them, they’ve done everything from founding and leading Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, to performing with leading UK classical groups including Bournemouth Symphony and London Contemporary Orchestra.
