Christmas Eve, 2026. At the failing Oxfordshire Chronicle, eccentric local democracy reporter Jim Cloud's investigations have led him to a scoop he is convinced will save the paper. His colleagues, however, are sceptical - no one reads council stories - and with just 36 hours before permanent closure, the heat is on for Jim to uncover a scandal big enough to make the front page. 

His only other problem? His suspicious editor has sent young and cynical clickbait guru Lucy to accompany him, and it isn’t entirely clear who is meant to be babysitting who...
