Covid Secure Measures at Oxford Playhouse
Oxford Playhouse is delighted to be welcoming audiences back into our theatre.
Please be assured that the safety of our audiences is of the utmost importance to us. We are following the safety and hygiene measures set out by the government in its guidance for performing arts.
For your safety and assurance we have put the following new measures and procedures into place.
We advise downloading the official NHS Covid-19 App in advance of your visit to assist with Track & Trace. Click Here to find out more about the app.
Oxford Playhouse will be reviewing these measures regularly and updating when necessary. If you have any questions before your visit to us please contact the Ticket Office on 01865 305305 or email: boxoffice@oxfordplayhouse.com
Booking for all live performances will close 3 hours prior before each performance’s start time. Please only buy tickets for people in your household.
Refreshments will only be available to pre-order online at the time of your booking as the bar will remain closed. Please collect all your refreshments from the pre-order collection point on arrival.
To avoid congestion, OP will stagger audience arrival times. You will be emailed after your booking with your arrival time. If you have not received this information by at least 2 hour before the start time of your event, please contact the Ticket Office. (Please check your spam folder.) On arrival, please show your e-tickets on a phone/tablet to our team where possible. You will be directed to your seat. Please be aware that the cloakroom will not be available, so please travel lightly!
Your temperature will be checked on entry to the venue. Please scan the QR code on display when you arrive, using the NHS Covid-19 app on your phone. We will also have Track and Trace forms to fill out for customers that do not have access to the app. This is to help trace and stop the spread of Covid-19.
OP has reduced the capacity of the auditorium in line with government regulations. Seats have been removed and a central aisle created to facilitate social distancing and easy access to seats. There will be a minimum of 2 vacant seats either side of your party. Please remain seated at the end of the performance and a usher will advise you when to depart.
To facilitate safe audience flow, a one way system has been created in the building aided Entrance and Exit Only areas and signage and floor markings. Please help us by following these markings and by keeping at least 1m space between you and other theatre-goers, where possible
All toilets have been made unisex to maintain cleaning and social distancing. These toilets will be cleaned more frequently. Please observe social distancing whilst you queue. We advise you to visit the toilets before the performances, if you require a comfort break during the performance, please alert an usher.
Please wear your face covering at all times whilst within the venue (unless exempt for health reasons), including whilst seated during the performance. You may remove your face covering for a short time whilst enjoying refreshments.
OP’s auditorium ventilation circulates 100% fresh air and not recirculated air.
A fogging system will provide a deep clean before performances and cleaning and disinfecting is taking place more frequently throughout the building, with particular attention being paid to ‘touch points’.
In the event that a performance has to be cancelled, you will receive a full refund. If you are unwell and unable to attend please contact our Box Office team who will do their best to help you.
Thank you for observing our new procedures. If you think you may have symptoms of Covid-19 (high temperature, new persistent cough, change in sense of taste or smell), we respectfully ask you not to visit the Playhouse, and attend a later performance. If you feel unwell whilst visiting us, please make a member of the Front of House team aware and head home immediately.
