Nurturing children's creativity…
It helped build my confidencePupil at William Fletcher Primary School
Arts education for school children has never been more important.
Every year Oxford Playhouse Primary Playmaker scheme works with over 400 children in primary schools across the city, supporting each child to write their very own play. The children learn valuable skills in a fun and exciting way, supporting their literacy learning, communication and teamworking abilities, encouraging imaginative ideas and boosting their confidence.
The scheme culminates on our stage with the amazing Primary Playmaker Showcase, with plays written by the children, performed for the children, by professional actors. For many children this is their first ever visit to a theatre.
