Stephen Bailey is an award-winning director, producer, and theatremaker. He won the Royal Theatrical Support Trust Sir Peter Hall Award for his production of The Real and Imagined History of the Elephant Man at Nottingham Playhouse.

Other directing credits include Surfacing (VAULT), Who Plays Who (Barbican) and Little Echoes (The Hope).

As a producer, he runs ASYLUM Arts which develops disabled and neurodivergent artists and produces work including the multi-award winning It's a Motherf**king Pleasure and the ***** That's Not My Name. They've worked for the National Theatre, Royal Court, Chichester Festival Theatre, Graeae, Kiln and Royal Opera House. Stephen trained with LAMDA, the European Theatre Convention, RTYDS, the Young Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
