We are holding local auditions for our upcoming production of Snow White. These auditions are open to actors (18+) based within a 25-mile radius of Oxford Playhouse.

The annual Oxford Playhouse pantomime is a much-loved part of both our organisation and the city’s cultural life, welcoming audiences of over 36,000 each year. Our pantomimes are character and plot-led, full of laughter, and feel unmistakeably Oxford. We are looking to get to know actors with comic character and improvisation skills, strong singing voices and who are confident with learning dance routines. We are committed to inclusive and diverse casting, which enables us to better represent our local community on stage.

This year's pantomime will rehearse in Oxford from Monday 26 October to Friday 20 November 2026. Performances will run until Sunday 3 January 2027. Actors will be paid Equity rates.

If you don’t think you’d be a good fit for panto, don’t worry - this is not your only opportunity to meet us! We intend to host even more local auditions in the future as we are keen to meet and build relationships with local performers for a range of projects. If we invite you to audition:

We anticipate that we will not be able to see everyone who applies, and we will prioritise applicants who best suit a role in Snow White.

If successful, we will invite you to a short individual audition at Oxford Playhouse. You will be asked to prepare a short monologue and a song that you can sing acapella - keeping in mind the style of pantomime when selecting your pieces. Auditions will consist of your prepared pieces followed by a brief chat. Recalls for specific roles will take place later in the summer.

Auditions will take place on:

Wednesday 10 June – Afternoon to Evening (2pm–7.30pm)

Tuesday 16th June – All Day (10am–6pm)
