Oxford Playhouse is pleased to announce a season featuring a rich, eclectic programme of world class drama, internationally acclaimed musicals, celebrated comedians, music and entertainment.

Season highlights include the world premiere of Murder In The Dark starring Tom Chambers, a thrilling ghost story from Torben Betts, directed by Philip Franks; musicals including the return of the joyous Jamaican musical Rush, an extraordinary story with fantastic live music played live by the JA Reggae Band and Willy Russell’s internationally acclaimed Blood Brothers.

Drama includes the critically acclaimed West End show Farm Hall, a riveting World War II whip-smart thriller written by Katherine Moar with a stellar cast; magical storytelling including puppets and live music in The House With Chicken Legs based on Sophie Anderson’s much-loved novel and a powerful stage adaptation of Ken Loach’s iconic film I, Daniel Blake, an emotional and vital piece of theatre.

BBC’s go-to-ghost Man Danny Robins reveals new real-life encounters with the paranormal in Uncanny: I Know What I Saw - a thrilling new theatrical experience with his resident experts from Team Believer and Team Sceptic.

A host of top comedians take the Playhouse stage including Bridget Christie, Jenny Éclair and Reginald D Hunter.

Autumn wouldn't be the same without the ever-popular Oxford Playhouse pantomime. Back with Jack and the Beanstalk, it's expected to be a glorious mix of the traditional and the new with buckets of festive family fun in this hilarious heart-warming story with lots of singing and dancing!
