Oxford Playhouse has today released production images of Helen Eastman’s Hurry Up Father Christmas!
Directed by Sam Rayner, and starring Emily Panes and Mark Brisbourne, the show is a perfect introduction for young audiences to the magic of theatre. This Playhouse production plays in the Burton Taylor Studio until Sunday 29 December.
Delighting packed-out audiences, Ivy the Elf (Emily Panes) and Mr Tick Tock (Mark Brisbourne) need your help to get Father Christmas’ sleigh on the way!

Credit: Geraint LewisSet in the big man’s sleigh shed in the North Pole, a few tasks must be completed before Mr Tick Tock can stop the clocks for the most exciting day of the year. Along the way, there’ll be plenty of musical delights and puppetry to keep young audiences entertained.
The sleigh is loaded. The elves are ready. But Father Christmas can’t find his keys. Or his glasses. Or his boots... and now he’s making a flask of tea! Hurry Up, Father Christmas! It’s Christmas Eve and it’s time to go!

Credit: Geraint LewisHelen Eastman has been spreading festive magic with her BT Studio Christmas shows for a number of years, most recently Dear Father Christmas in 2023. At the helm this year is Sam Rayner, the Associate Director of last year’s production.
The creative team also includes Immy Howard (Set & Costume Designer), Ashley Bale (Lighting Designer), Patrick Stockbridge (Composer), Tanya Jackson (Prop Supervisor), and James Thearle (Production Carpenter).
A festive interactive experience perfect for ages 3 to 6, tickets for Hurry Up Father Christmas! at the Burton Taylor Studio start from £12, with some performances sold out. All shows are Relaxed.
