News Story
Following the huge success of last year’s Hurry Up Father Christmas at the Burton Taylor Studio, Oxford Playhouse is delighted to announce another magical Christmas show for little ones from writer Helen Eastman.
This December, the Burton Taylor Studio – just around the corner from Oxford Playhouse –
will be transformed into a festive present wrapping room for Where’s Father Christmas?
In this merry adventure, young theatregoers meet Petra the Elf and Mr Coverall, who are working hard to wrap more presents than ever in preparation for the big day! Everything seems to be on track, except for one small problem – where has Father Christmas gone and will he be back in time to deliver all the presents?
A joyful mix of stories, songs and activities, this hour-long show is the perfect introduction to theatre for children aged three to six. You might even meet Father Christmas himself… if you can find him!

The cast of Where's Father Christmas? at the Burton Taylor Studio
LilyRose Wallace plays Petra and brings to life charming North Pole characters Anaish the Husky and Kip the Penguin. Ian Harris plays Mr Coverall and might just make an appearance as Father Christmas!
Where’s Father Christmas? is brought to you by the same team that created last year’s sell-out production. This is the seventh Christmas show Helen Eastman has written for the studio, previously delighting audiences with Hurry Up Father Christmas! and Dear Father Christmas.
The creative team also includes Samuel Rayneras Director (Hurry Up Father Christmas!) Immy Howard as Designer (Sleeping Beauty, Oxford Playhouse), Will Hayman as Lighting Designer, Alex Silverman as Musical Director, and Russell Hepplewhite as Composer.
