Louis Emmitt-Stern is a London-based writer and director from Gibraltar.

His play Slippery won Soho Theatre’s Tony Craze Award in 2021 and is currently in development for a full production. His second play I F*Cked You in My Spaceship received a sold-out premiere at VAULT Festival 2023, winning the Origins Award for Outstanding New Work. It subsequently transferred to Soho Theatre, London, in June 2023. Louis was called "a rising star playwright" by Time Out. The play is published by Nick Hern Books.

His other work has been performed at Watford Palace Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, The Pleasance Theatre Islington, LAMDA, Ivy Arts Centre, and supported by Farnham Maltings.

He trained at Guildford School of Acting, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and is an alumnus of Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab, Soho Writers’ Alumni Group, National Theatre Young Playwrights Programme, and Young Lyric Directors Course at Lyric Hammersmith.

As a facilitator and youth director, Louis has worked with Battersea Arts Centre, Exeter Northcott Theatre, and Omnibus Theatre Clapham.

He teaches acting and playwriting both in the UK and Gibraltar.
