Many teenagers have a complicated relationship with sex: fascination, fear, awe, disgust… Sex is never simple, yet in the mainstream imagination is reduced to a single element.

From admitting defeat to a tampon, to watching bad porn with her best friend’s horrid boyfriend, Skin a Cat follows Alana on her tender and fumbling sexual odyssey. With a kaleidoscope of off-kilter characters, the play interrogates the virginity myth and the fixation with penetrative sex, bringing to light many unspoken anxieties and marginalised experiences.

Skin a Cat was nominated for four Off-West End awards including Best New Play.

Duration: 1 hour 20mins with no interval

A world in which every word must be chosen carefully. A world in which every word is counted. Where every word matters more than ever before. This is Oliver and Bernadette’s world — a world not unlike ours. The government has passed a Quietude Bill, limiting each person to 140 words a day. The young couple now struggle to express themselves in a society that...
