When aspiring singer Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder by her boyfriend, she is taken into a Witness Protection Programme and hidden in the least-likely place she’d ever be found - a convent! Whilst there, Deloris breathes new life into the nuns’ choir turning them into gospel superstars and learns there’s more to life than fame and fortune.

Based on the 1992 mega-hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act - The Musical has a powerful gospel and disco-inspired score by 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken.

Oxford’s award-winning society, OXOPS, returns to the Oxford Playhouse with this moving and feel-good musical after their 5-star production of Fiddler on the Roof earlier this year.

    Tue 7 - Sat 11 May

For the romantic, the cynic and the sick of heart Love/Sick is a play about the kind of love you won’t find in fairy-tales. Dark, funny and heart-breaking in equal measure, happy endings are far from guaranteed. John Cariani’s nine short plays sharply cut across the full spectrum of romantic relationships, from young love to old flames. There’s no sterile, airbrushed prince and princess...

    Tue 7 - Sat 11 May

When an experimental physical theatre company decide to butcher The Catcher in the Rye on stage, many questions are left unanswered… In the following live audience Q&A, the company hope to shed some light on their unique method. Instead, the room is catapulted into farcical chaos as a stern Guardian critic exposes the public disgrace that brought down lead-actor and Emmerdale-star, Seba...

  • The Ruling Class

    Tue 14 - Sat 18 May

A 1960s manor living room is flooded with light. Surrounded by Victorian values, the audience is suddenly greeted by a magnanimous hippy – floating and grazing around the upper-classes living beyond the age in which they belong. He’s likeable, witty, and carefree. He also thinks he’s the Lord God reincarnate. The Ruling Class is a dark, witty, and satirical comedy that probes the hypocri...
