"It's not God I worry about. It's people."

Bobbi is a photographer. Jerry is a writer. Bobby is worldly-wise. Jerry is stepping out on his own for the very first time. Bobbi is gay. Jerry is straight. Bobbi is passionate, talented and artistic. And so is Jerry.

Plagued is the story of two men attempting to make a life for themselves in New York City. Inadvertently paired, together they face down the hilarity and tragedy that life throws at them.

Unbeknownst to them, and to the community which Bobbi calls his own, they are living on the precipice of an unprecedented, terrifying epidemic.

Plagued is a human story. It's about how we respond to tragedy. It's about how we treat each other and how we learn from one another. It's about Bobbi, and Jerry, and an illness that would shatter the world.

Plagued is part of the New Writing Festival

The OUDS New Writing Festival is an annual competition to find Oxford's best student playwrights and showcase their work.

At the Burton Taylor studio, four pieces of new writing selected by the OUDS committee will be shown and judged by a professional playwright for the title of "Best New Script".

The festival aims to provide mentoring and support for new writers, as well as encouraging individuals from the Oxford student community to become generally more involved with drama.

Duration: 1 hour 25mins with no interval
