In a world of showgirls and cowboys, Gershwin’s musical comedy is the classic tale of a city boy and a country girl who fall in love and try to save a theatre… the old-fashioned way!

Stage-struck banker Bobby Child desperately longs for a career in show-business. Whilst working out-of-town Bobby falls for postmistress Polly Baker whose father owns the crumbling Gaiety Theatre. Bobby decides to save the theatre and win Polly’s heart, but will his plan be a success?

Award-winning OXOPS return with this feel-good show, featuring the hits Someone to Watch over Me, Slap That Bass and I’ve Got Rhythm.

  • Spring Awakening

‘There is a part I can’t tell...about the dark I know well’. Oxford University students bring Broadway’s eight-time Tony Award-winning hit musical Spring Awakening to life this autumn. Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik’s provocative reimagining of Frank Wedekind’s 1891 play combines an alt-rock score with a narrative fuelled by sexuality, morality and rebellion. In a desperate bid to unde...

  • Little Miss Sunshine

The road to happiness is a bumpy ride. • Here We Go

    Fri 23 - Sat 24 Aug

This is a play about death. About aging and being cared for; about grief; about living our days to the full. Caryl Churchill’s short play is a powerful homage to life and its many endings.
