One day. Six cities. A thousand stories.

Following a sell-out run at the National Theatre, Inua Ellams’ acclaimed Barber Shop Chronicles makes a much-anticipated visit to Oxford.

Newsroom, political platform, local hotspot, confession box, preacher-pulpit and football stadium. For generations, African men have gathered in barber shops to discuss the world. These are places where the banter can be barbed and the truth is always telling.

Directed by Olivier award-winning Bijan Sheibani, Barber Shop Chronicles is a heart-warming, hilarious and insightful new play that leaps from a barber shop in Peckham to Johannesburg, Harare, Kampala, Lagos and Accra over the course of a single day.

Duration: 1 hour 45mins with no interval

  • Nigel Slater's Toast

    Mon 26 - Sat 31 Aug

Toast vividly recreates Nigel Slater’s childhood through the tastes and smells he shares with his mother, culminating in the young Nigel’s escape to London. From making the perfect sherry trifle, through the playground politics of sweets, the rigid rules of restaurant dining, and a domestic war over cakes, this is a moving and evocative tale of love, loss and...toast. At various points...

The Riot Club are back in business. This time on one condition. They must behave. Keep it out of the Daily Mail. Preserve the reputation of the club. At a tough political time the reputation of the PM cannot be tarnished. As...
