7th SJE Arts International Piano Series: Angela Hewitt
Thursday 26 March 2020, 7.30pm
Angela Hewitt’s performances of Bach have established her as one of the composer’s foremost interpreters.
In 2016 Angela embarked on a four-year mission to present all the major keyboard works of J.S. Bach in concert venues around the world. This May, she completes the journey with Odyssey XII in Tokyo.
Tonight’s programme includes the delightful Eighteen Little Preludes, which Bach wrote for teaching his eldest son, and his two experiments in the reproduction of orchestral formats for the keyboard: the impressive, eleven movement Overture in the French style and the shorter, lively, Italian Concerto. An evening with much to look forward to from the hands of a master.
Tickets: £39, £32, £25, £18; under 25s £29, £22, £15, £8
