We are grateful for donations of any size, they make a real difference. You can either donate to:

Offstage Fund - you will help us work with over 16,000 children and young people every year, reach out to areas of Oxford where there is very little cultural provision and nurture the creativity of aspiring artists. The Offstage Fund supports activity such as:

  • Primary Playmaker which gives children the experience of developing and writing their own play and which is helping primary schools to improve literacy.
  • Young Players' Festival our annual festival that celebrates the creative talent of Oxfordshire's children and young people.
  • Productions such as Every You, Every Me, which explored issues of mental health amongst young people and toured local secondary schools.

Onstage Fund - you will help Oxford Playhouse continue its long tradition of making and presenting world-class theatre for Oxford. The Onstage Fund enables us to:

  • Produce new  shows for the Playhouse stage, such as the much loved 2016 production, Sand in the Sandwiches, our children's show One Small Step coming to the Burton Taylor Studio in Spring 2018, and our annual Christmas panto.
  • Bring internationally recognised artists and productions to Oxford, such as Complicite's The Encounter (2016), 1927's Golem (2017) and Gecko's The Wedding (2018).
  • Upkeep our Grade II* listed building and ensure we have all the latest tech and equipment to make our theatre accessible and comfortable.

Alternatively, you can donate to our General Donations Fund which underpins all our work at the Playhouse.

You can make a donation to any of these funds when you buy a ticket for Oxford Playhouse or by calling Emily Lister in the Development team on 01865 305 315.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a government scheme where, if you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation to us by 25% at no extra cost to you. This means that if you make a £2 donation, it's worth £2.50 to us! If you would like to make a new Gift Aid declaration or change an existing one, you can call the Development team on 01865 305 315.

Also, if you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

How do I set up a regular donation?

You can call the Development team on 01865 305 315 to set up a regular payment by direct debit or to request a form to set up a standing order.

We have recently set up a new Friendship programme for people who want to regularly donate to our work at the Playhouse. Friendship starts from £500 a year and you can find more information here.

Don't I already donate to you by being a Member?

Members of the Playhouse (inc. OPTinEnjoyFull CircleCollege and Business Club) are tremendously important and play an integral part in supporting us by regularly attending performances. However, no part of what you pay to join those memberships is a donation: it's a membership fee for which you receive certain benefits in return. If you would like to give any more to the Playhouse as a donation we would be very grateful.

If you would like to support us on a regular basis and keep your Membership benefits you might like to consider being a Friend of the Playhouse (starting from £500 a year). Click here for more information.

How can my support be anonymous?

If you would rather your support was anonymous and not publicly acknowledged simply email the Development team expressing your wishes and your support will not be made public.
