Love theatre? Help us keep Oxford Playhouse a theatre for everyone by making a gift today.

For 80 years, the Oxford Playhouse theatre has inspired and educated the people of Oxfordshire with a programme of drama, comedy, dance and music for audiences of all backgrounds. Our mission is to; present and produce inspirational performances; to create, nurture and showcase new work; and to enrich the lives of the people of Oxfordshire by providing access to the arts for local schools and communities.

We raise the majority of our funds from ticket sales, our cafe and bars, room hires, memberships and corporate sponsorship's. We get additional support from Arts Council England, The University of Oxford, Oxford City Council and St John's College but we need to raise the rest from donations to ensure that we can continue to be a Playhouse for everyone.

If you make a donation to Oxford Playhouse today you will be helping us to present and produce the very best of British and international theatre for Oxfordshire, train theatre-makers of the future, nurture the creative skills of children and young people, bring drama alive to schools and community groups who otherwise struggle to engage in the cultural life of the area, keep tickets affordable and maintain our Grade II* listed building.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a government scheme where, if you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation to us by 25% at no extra cost to you. This means that if you make a £2 donation, it's worth £2.50 to us! If you would like to make a new Gift Aid declaration or change an existing one, you can call the Development team on 01865 305 315.

Also, if you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

How do I set up a regular donation?

You can call the Development team on 01865 305 315 to request a form to set up a standing order. We have recently set up a new Friendship programme for people who want to regularly donate to our work at the Playhouse. Friendship starts from £500 a year and you can find more information here.

Don't I already donate to you by being a Member?

Members of the Playhouse (inc. OPTinEnjoyFull CircleCollege and Business Club) are tremendously important and play an integral part in supporting us by regularly attending performances. However, the amount you pay to become a member does not include a donation. If you would like to give any more to the Playhouse as a donation we would be very grateful.

If you would like to support us on a regular basis and keep your Membership benefits you might like to consider being a Friend of the Playhouse (starting from £500 a year). Click here for more information.

How can my support be anonymous?

If you would rather your support was anonymous and not publicly acknowledged simply email the Development team expressing your wishes and your support will not be made public.

How can I hear more about supporting Oxford Playhouse?

If you would like to know how your donations make a difference to our work and to be the first to hear about upcoming fundraising events, such as our recent In Conversation with Hugh Grant (Mar.18) you can sign up to our mailing list. We promise we won’t bombard you with requests for money and we will only email you information that we think is relevant to you. If you would like to receive these emails, just email the Development Team or call them on 01865 305 315.

It's easy to opt out at any time by emailing the Development team or calling them on 01865 305 315.
