We hope the following Q&A will answer most questions people may have about membership at Oxford Playhouse. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to email us on membership@oxfordplayhouse.com or call 01865 305315.
If you purchased an auto-renew membership, your membership will renew automatically each year, and will continue to do so until you inform us to stop, or you cancel your payment directly with your card issuer. If you purchased your membership with a one-off payment and it is due to renew within the next four weeks, you can renew online. You can also call the Ticket Office on 01865 305305 or visit us on Beaumont Street.
Up until the expiry of your current membership, you can upgrade your membership and your new upgraded membership will be active for a year from that date. You will be charged for the difference in price. To upgrade, give our Ticket Office a ring on 01865 305305 or come in and visit us on Beaumont Street.
If you would like to downgrade your membership, you can do on renewal. If you would like to downgrade, please notify the Ticket Office on 01865 305305 or visit us on Beaumont Street before your membership expires. You can also email us. We regret we do not offer pro-rata refunds for membership and therefore are unable to offer mid-year downgrades.
If you purchased your membership with a one-off payment, you do not need to do anything. Your membership will automatically expire. If you purchased an auto-renew membership, please get in touch by email or by phone (01865 305305) at least ten working days before your renewal date to let us know you wish to cancel your auto-renew membership. If you cancel, you can continue to enjoy your member benefits until the expiry date of your current membership period. We regret we do not offer pro-rata refunds for membership if you choose to cancel before your expiry.

Although members' are tremendously important to us and play an integral role in supporting the Playhouse by regularly buying tickets and coming to shows, the amount you pay to become a member does not include a donation. Therefore we cannot claim Gift Aid on your membership. However, if you are interested in supporting the Playhouse both as a member and a donor you might like to consider becoming a Friend of the Playhouse (from £500 per year).

In order to hear about all the new events going on sale, please make sure you have registered your email and are fully opted-in to receive emails from us. To change your mailing preferences at any time, please log in to My Account on our website, give us a ring on 01865 305305 or email us.
Priority booking periods vary and there may not be a priority booking allocation for all events. However, as a guideline, there is usually up to a week’s priority booking for each new season (Spring, Summer, Autumn) and a minimum of 24 hours for additional events programmed outside of this e.g. special events, one-night comedy etc. This is communicated via email on the day booking opens. Please make sure you have registered your email address and are fully opted-in to receive emails from us.
Please note: Due to the varied nature of our programme, we cannot guarantee priority booking for all events and membership does not guarantee tickets will be available as, on occasion, tickets can sell out during priority booking.
When booking online, firstly log in to the Oxford Playhouse website using your email address and password. Select the shows and seats you’d like. If you are booking for a performance for which you are valid for a members’ discount, you will need to leave the tickets as 'Full Price'. After you press ‘Continue’, the discount will be applied automatically in your basket. When booking through the Ticket Office either by phone or in person, simply quote your membership number to a member of the Ticket Office team to obtain your priority booking.
Where members’ discounts are available, these apply to two tickets per event only.
Members can purchase member tickets up until the last day their membership is valid, i.e. the membership must be current when purchasing the tickets but need not be valid on the event date (although you will not be able to enjoy benefits such as entry to the W Lucy Members’ Room).
Occasionally, the W Lucy Members’ Room is closed for external hires.
These dates are circulated by email to Full Circle members on the first day of each month. If you cannot access these emails please contact membership@oxfordplayhouse.com.
The W Lucy Members’ Room is on the first floor of the theatre, at the end of the Circle Bar.
