Update about performances
posted 22 May 2020

We sadly have to announce a further period of closure for Oxford Playhouse. All performances at the Playhouse, the Burton Taylor Studio and the Shakespeare's Globe on Tour performances at Blenheim Palace are now suspended until Monday 3 August. The wellbeing and safety of our audiences, our artists and our staff will always come first.

If you have tickets for any of our performances up until Monday 3 August 2020 or Russell Howard (28 to 30 August), you will have been sent an email from the Ticket Office. Please check your emails to ensure you have received this and tell us what you would like to do with your tickets. Customers without an email address will be contacted by our Ticket Office soon. Please bear with us during these exceptional and difficult times.

In better news, we have already been able to reschedule some shows for later in the year or for next year. Again, we have emailed customers with details of these shows.

Our closure will obviously have a detrimental impact on the income of Oxford Playhouse. As a registered charity, we rely on Ticket Office sales for 80% of our income. Whilst we will offer refunds, we humbly ask those with tickets for events that are no longer going ahead, whether they would consider donating the price of their tickets to our Playhouse Plays On appeal. Your donation would make a real difference to the survival of Oxford Playhouse and the support we provide to all our artists and performers.

Remember, our doors may be closed but Oxford Playhouse continues to offer creative opportunities during this time. Please visit Playhouse at Home Creative Programme for further information.

We thank you for your continuing support. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
