Around the World in 80 Days - what the audiences say
posted 14 Jul 2017

As if we couldn't get more excited to welcome Around the World in 80 Days to the Playhouse, here's what the audiences in Nottingham are saying! Directed by Theresa Heskins', who directed last summer's Peter Pan in Scarlet, this show will be a treat for anyone from youngsters to adults and even X-Box-loving 15-year-olds!

Thank you for the tickets for last night. My friend and I thought the show absolutely brilliant. Please congratulate the cast. We thought the innovation of props was great. Their energy was amazing. An absolute first class performance.  Many congratulations to all involved. Wish I had their energy!

I just wanted to thank you again for yesterday evening. The show is terribly clever and funny, and we all had a thoroughly lovely time. Thank you very much indeed."

Thank you so much for a wonderful evening last night.  Andrew and I loved the show, one of the most entertaining things we’ve seen for a while, and yet, we had not thought it would be an event for us.  Which just goes to show that it’s probably worth seeing everything!

Thank you very much for the tickets, Alan and I enjoyed the show very much. We thought it was a very clever, slick production. They all worked so hard.
Thank you so much for the tickets last night. My husband and I really enjoyed it and thought the cast were brilliant.

Thank you so very much for the complimentary tickets last night. It was a very special treat for my son and I as our current circumstances mean that trips to the theatre etc. are few and far between these days.

We both thought that the production and performance were especially clever and highly entertaining. We were impressed by the cast; their stamina and ability to deliver their lines faultlessly whilst physically conjuring all those journeys on boats and trains was especially impressive! They must be exhausted!

We loved the 'sleight of hand' money changing and the long distance 'fight' scenes, which were choreographed beautifully to the sound track; the 'slo mo' effect elements were especially entertaining and unique. Michael Hugo's 'Passepartout' is endearing and together with the audience interaction pieces - it connected us even more with his character. So on his side.

It takes a lot to impress a 15 yr old young man these days. Skye was. He loved it and was impressed - now that's something coming from an XBox addict!

So thank you David and of course all the team. You gave us a real treat last night and re-engaged a young man with what can be achieved in the real world of 'make believe'.
