“You’re a good man Jamie. Have I told you that yet?

After the sudden death of her grandfather, Lisa Blanche is left with the task of carrying out one of the wishes on her grandfather's will: to find out what happened to his brother Pierre. Seventy years earlier in the trenches of France, Jamie MaCloy, a sniper who has returned to his post, befriends a French soldier, named Pierre Delacroix. Little does Jamie know how his friendship with Pierre will shape him and the decisions he makes afterwards.

Set in 1917 and 1980, Maria Sigrid Remme’s Carte Blancheis an intimate portrayal of the war and how its impact is felt across a family’s generations.
