How do you own your space?
Join performer, theatre maker and movement director Jennifer Jackson (The Globe, National Theatre) as she invites all women to run, walk or move with her on a one-to-one basis through public spaces in Oxford. Whilst you journey with her, she will chat about your experiences of travelling and exercising in those spaces.
As We Run We Become is a curated journey, led by Jenni, which aims to instigate discussion around some of the challenges of being a woman in public spaces and attempts to reframe this experience by building confidence and creating agency for women and girls.
It is a small, radical act of solidarity.
Please come dressed to run or walk. Participants will meet Jenni in the foyer at Oxford Playhouse, then walk with her to Hythe Bridge Street (about 5 minutes from Oxford Playhouse) before journeying up the canal path for up to 40 minutes and ending at the Old Fire Station Cafe where you will cool down over a civilised cup of tea! Book your time slot now.
As We Run We Becomein Oxford is part of a series of journeys that Jenni is undertaking in cities throughout the UK and Internationally, capturing the voices and experiences of women. If you feel comfortable, your experiences may be recorded, but this isn’t a pre-requisite for signing up.
