Carleen Anderson is American music royalty. Her mother, Vicki Anderson, was James Brown’s favourite vocalist and her stepfather Bobby Byrd founded the Famous Flames. Now Carleen – a Mercury-nominated star of soul and acid jazz – honours her family’s history in Texas and Mississippi with Cage Street Memorial; a moving testament to her gospel roots and her personal journey from the Deep South to the UK.

Carleen’s astonishingly soulful voice has won numerous awards and accolades including Jazz FM’s Best UK Vocalist. Backed by her own keyboards and an all-star quartet, Carleen blends styles from jazz, soul and gospel to opera and chamber music for an unforgettable evening.

My Last Will and Tasty Mint The star of Radio 4’s John Shuttleworth’s Lounge Music hits the road for his farewell tour. A recent health scare (well, a mild bout of Athlete’s Foot) has made “Sheffield’s finest singer/songwriter” (Times) focus on his mortality. As befits a man living on borrowed time, John considers life’s major issues: the rise in popularity of hi-vis protective wear and...

    Fri 23 Jun

A fiercely political convergence of death metal and theatre, #TORYCORE vocalises a response to Conservative Party policies through music, speeches, powerpoint and rage. It’s a guttural, expressive experience made up of Tory doctrine, political contexts and the impact of austerity over the past five years.

  • In these upsetting times, it’s important to have something to laugh about. Hence, Boris - The Musical!, the unofficial satirical Brexit tale of Britain’s finest politiclown.
