Script Writing Weekend
Hospitality Room, Oxford Playhouse
Join Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran (writers of Von Ribbentrop’s Watch, Birds of a Feather and The New Statesman) for a weekend of words. You will discuss the elements of creating historical drama, try your own skills at script writing and gain the tools to critique your work.

Spotlight
Top Room, Oxford Playhouse
Each month we run sessions for over 60s which are an opportunity to get closer to the processes of theatre-making. Spotlight includes talks, discussion, activities, and input from visiting companies where possible. This season’s dates:

OP Connect
Bringing community groups closer to our action at Oxford Playhouse
What?
OP has a wide range of opportunities for community groups – from ticket deals and tours to workshops and performances. Through OP Connect we will engage with groups from across Oxfordshire to provide opportunities based around our programme of live performance and activities.
Who?
OP Connect offers all this for groups in Oxfordshire who are interested in getting closer to live performance here at Oxford Playhouse. Whatever brings you together, OP Connect is for you. Your group might share a workplace or have collective hobbies or interests. You might be a charity, a book group, or something completely different!
How?
How much you get involved is up to you. Here’s what it could look like:
- Join our OP Connect mailing list to hear about shows, events and workshops of interest to your group Meet a member of our OP team to talk about your group and how we can help you get closer to our action.
- Watch a performance with discounted or free tickets for your group.
- Participate in a drama-based workshop, talk or backstage tour.
- Go further to develop a longer-term participatory theatre project in partnership with OP

Backstage tours
Wednesday 13 October at 2pm & Thursday 11 November at 10am
A chance to go behind-the scenes at Oxford Playhouse with a tour of the auditorium and backstage areas. You’ll hear stories from the theatre’s rich and memorable history, and see how things work backstage. Tours last approximately 1 hour, and include climbing stairs.
Tickets £2 from the ticket office
