A History of the World in 100 Objects
As BBC Radio 4's History of the World nears its conclusion, JD Hill offers a rare behind the scenes look at the making of this series. JD led the team who helped Neil MacGregor write this landmark BBC Radio 4 history.
As well as looking at how the project grew to cover the whole of the UK, he will explore the challenges of writing history aimed at a very wide audience, and how telling this through objects is both harder and easier than writing more conventional history.
JD Hill is Lead Curator for A History of the World in 100 Objects for the British Museum and is also the Museum's Head of Research.
