FAQs
How do I book my free ticket?
Firstly pop into the Playhouse with a passport sized photo and purchase a membership card for £1. Also bring proof of age. Then choose the performance you’d like to see (using the link on the left), and call our ticket office on 01865 305305, or visit us at the Oxford Playhouse on Beaumont Street
When are free tickets available to book?
Free tickets are available from the first working day of each month - e.g. if you want to see a show for free in September, you will be able to book those tickets from 1 September. The only exception to this is when a show runs from the end of one month to the beginning of the next, or opens at the very start of a month. In that case free tickets will be available from the start of the previous month.
Can I book free tickets for my friends?
You are able to buy one ticket for yourself and one other for a friend ( who must also be aged 16-25). The friend (if not a member) must bring proof of age ID when collecting the ticket.
How do I collect my ticket once I’ve booked it?
our ticket will be available for collection on the day of the performance (not before) - please bring your membership card for yourself and anyone else you’ve booked a free ticket will need ID for proof of age. If you book a free ticket, but find you can’t come after all, let us know by calling the ticket office before the performance (and as soon as you can). Anyone who does not show up to use their ticket without cancelling it by 12pm on the day will be banned from the scheme for six months - this is a very popular scheme and we want to make sure as many people as possible benefit from it.
Why can’t I get a free ticket?
Free tickets are usually available for performances at the Playhouse on Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday evenings (depending on the show), and Saturday afternoons. Once they’re available at the start of the month, they often get booked up very quickly, We’re limiting each person to 1 free tickets per month
