Seven Angels
Music by Luke Bedford, words by Glyn Maxwell
Seven angels have fallen through space and time for so long, they have forgotten why. Coming to rest on a desert, they imagine the creation of a legendary garden that once flourished there and its destruction from greed and neglect.
Moving and magical, Seven Angels interprets the themes of Milton's poetic masterpiece Paradise Lost for an audience facing the challenges of a changing climate.
Featuring a live chamber orchestra, this is the eagerly-awaited first opera from Luke Bedford, one of the UK's leading young composers, with words by Glyn Maxwell, who wrote After Troy and Liberty. It is produced by the award-winning The Opera Group and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group.
An unmissable event. For over ten years, The Opera Group has been blazing a trail with specially commissioned new works and imaginative interpretations BBC Music Magazine
