Accessibility Facilities
Facilities in the Theatre include dedicated spaces for wheelchair users, wheelchair accessible toilets, Open-Captioned performances and an infra-red Sennheiser system. Please note that this is not available in all areas (see below).

Wheelchair Access in the Theatre
We have space in the Stalls to accommodate wheelchairs at the end of rows E and L. There is a larger space in the centre of row T (next to the sound desk), this can be used for larger chairs or to accommodate two smaller wheelchairs side by side. An accessible toilet is located to the rear of the Stalls. Wheelchair users who prefer to transfer to a seat during the performance should notify the box office when booking tickets.

Access to the stalls is through the ground floor, there is an accessible toilet on the level and a Foyer / Cafe bar which serves a wide range of drinks and snacks. Unfortunately there is no lift access to the other floors at the Playhouse. If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff, they will be more than happy to help.

Walking aids
To comply with health and safety regulations, walking aids will be stored outside of the auditorium during a performance. A member of ushering staff will return walking aids to patrons for the interval and at the end of the performance.

Facilities for blind and visually impaired patrons
Guide dogs are welcome in the building and can be looked after by a member of the theatre's ushering staff. Please note: guide dogs are not permitted in the auditorium during the performance. Audio Descriptions are available for certain performances. You can phone the Box Office on 01865 305305 for further information.

Facilities for deaf and hard of hearing patrons
We present regular Open-Captioned performances by Stagetext. For more details on Open-Captioning please visit http://www.stagetext.org/. An Induction Loop system is installed at the Box Office only. This system is not present in the auditorium.

Oxford Playhouse offers a Sennheiser infra-red system for the hearing impaired. This service is not available in all areas of the auditorium. The most suitable part of the auditorium for use is Rows G - P in the stalls, and the circle. If you require further information please email the Box Office or telephone 01865 305305. Please note Digital hearing aids do not work with the Sennheiser necklaces. Sennheiser headsets should be used.

Please note: at present we are unable to take internet bookings for wheelchair spaces.

We aim to make the theatre as accessible as possible. Please advise the Box Office of your requirements at time of booking.
